The Zvyozdochka Ship Repair Center (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) has supplied yet another batch of propellers for the Korean-built Arctic LNG carrier for the Yamal Project.

The propeller sets are supplied under the contract between Zvyozdochka and Finland-based ABB Oy Marine Ports outfitting the Arctic LNG carriers built by Daewoo Shipbuilding&Marine Engineering for the Yamal project. Previously, the customer received the hubs and fairings for the ship’s steerable propellers.

Since 2017, the propeller section of the Ship Repair Center has sent 35 complete sets for the propulsion units to be installed on 13 LNG carriers under the contract. The total batch includes 15 vessels.

Each propeller has 6 meters in diameter; each blade weighs more than 7 tons, each shroud – almost 6 tons.
